PCST2014 was held in Salvador, Brazil, from 5th to 8th May. The 13th International Public Communication of Science and Technology Conference focused on political engagement for social inclusion.
Special attention has been given to those people who have no access to education and to science goods, like people who live in remote areas; immigrants, who have difficulties in understanding the language and the cultural context or disabled people, who have no science communication activities tailored to them. PCST2014 aimed at addressing these issues, evoking the debate on how to raise more inclusive strategies, both in developing and developed world, as well as to improve citizenship through public engagement in science and technology and build models and practices for participation.
