The final event of the European Science in Society Forum took place from 9th to 11th March 2005 in Bruxelles and concluded the initiative during which Observa organised the first Italian “Science in Society”Forum. The Italian Forum, which was conducted in parallel with other European events in Sweden, Austria, Greece, Slovenia and France, aimed at collecting the expectations of citizens and stakeholders touched by research and innovation – entrepreneurs, consumers’ associations, schools, third sector – and discussing them together with representative exponents of the scientific community and the civil society.
During the Bruxelles event, wide attention was given to the contributions and themes emerged during the Italian event and there was the opportunity to compare the Italian experience with the other international ones, underlying the importance of continuing to develop a durable and ervasive dialogue on the role of science in the European society.
