Public Understanding of Science


The journal Public Understanding of Science supports the work of researchers studying the Immagine1modern scientific mentality in a global perspective. To reflect further on 20 years of the journal, it is presented a lexicographic and bibliometric study of all papers published in Public Understanding of Science (PUS).

Martin W. Bauer (PhD) is Professor of Social Psychology and Research Methodology at the London School of Economics, and the current Editor-in-chief of Public Understanding of Science. His research is on the relation of science and common sense, and construction of indicators of science culture.

Susan Howard (PhD) is the managing editor of Public Understanding of Science. She wrote her thesis on ‘Stereotypes of scientists post-war Britain’.
