Fifth World Conference on the Future of Science – The DNA Revolution

Results from the Science in Society Monitor will be presented in Venice, 21 September 2009 at the Fifth World Conference on the Future of Science “The DNA Revolution”.

The Future of Science is a cycle of annual international conferences jointly organised by the Fondazione Umberto Veronesi, the Fondazione Silvio Tronchetti Provera and the Fondazione Giorgio Cini.

The Fifth World Conference on the Future of Science will focus on The DNA Revolution and will assess the impact that the “DNA Revolution” has had and will continue to have on science, technology and the quality of human life.

Major topics to be discussed will be genes and genome evolution, the impact of recombinant DNA on biotechnology and pharmaceutics, the genetics of human diseases, gene therapy and the molecular genetics of cancer.

The Fifth World Conference on the Future of Science will take place in Venice, 20-22 September 2009.

Among the speakers Massimiano Bucchi who will speak about Bioethics in public perception and media coverage, presenting new data from the Science in Society Monitor on several issues central to the current bioethics debate.
