In line with its mission to offer a <strong>balanced and independent viewpoint<\/strong> on the debate regarding the relationship between science and society, Observa does not depend upon private, or public, institutions. <strong>Members\u2019 support<\/strong>, together with funded projects and donations, results thus necessary for the implementation of the centre\u2019s research activities.<\/p>\n<p>Membership to the association, in quality of supporting member, is free and of annual validity. It gives the opportunity to participate in Observa\u2019s public initiatives and internal training seminars; to receive the publications edited by the association during the year; to keep informed upon new events through the periodical newsletter; to access all the research material dedicated to the members and available on the website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.observa.it\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.observa.it\/observa\/observa<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Amongst <strong>this year\u2019s novelties<\/strong> dedicated to Observa\u2019s supporting members, the fifth edition of <strong>Science and Society Facts and Figures<\/strong>, edited for the first time by Il Mulino, which encloses a special section: <em>Italians, Science and the Environment. Second report on science, technology and public opinion in Italy<\/em>, a new monitor on public orientations towards environmental issues, from waste disposal to eco-sustainability; a set of <strong>thematic in-depth investigations<\/strong> on the relationships between science and citizenry in Europe, which will be available during the course of the year on the website; and a new cycle of <strong>seminars<\/strong> which will be opened on the 12th of January, 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Further, members will be able to book a <strong>reserved seat<\/strong> for the conferences during the third edition of <strong>Science and Society Meet in Architecture<\/strong>, which will be held in April (16-19) 2009 in the stunning Palladian context of Villa Caldogno (VI).<\/p>\n<p>All the membership terms and conditions are published on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.observa.it\/en\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Members\u2019 Page<\/strong><\/a>.
