Grande successo per PCST 2012


Ottima risposta di pubblico e partecipazione per il XII Convegno Internazionale di Comunicazione Pubblica della Scienza e della Tecnologia (PCST), Quality, Honesty and Beauty in Science and Technology Communication, che si è svolto a Firenze dal 18 al 20 aprile 2012.

Il programma scientifico della conferenza ha contato 469 presentazioni, tenute da scienziati e comunicatori scientifici, ricercatori universitari e rappresentanti di istituzioni. Oltre 650 partecipanti da cinque continenti impegnati nella ricerca e nella comunicazione scientifica e tecnologica si sono ritrovati per discutere e aggiornarsi su giornalismo scientifico, ricerca nella comunicazione della scienza, indagini riguardanti la scienza nella società, musei scientifici e attività di comunicazione da parte delle istituzioni di ricerca.

Numerosi incontri e conferenze hanno coinvolto alcuni membri del Comitato Scientifico di Observa: Martin Bauer, Massimiano Bucchi, Federico Neresini, Giuseppe Pellegrini, Giuseppe Testa e Brian Trench.

Le sessioni plenarie sono state tenute da esperti internazionali: Piero Angela (RAI), Martin W. Bauer (LSE, direttore della rivista Public Understanding of Science), Rick Borchelt (US National Cancer Institute), Massimiano Bucchi (Università di Trento), Ilaria Capua (OIE-FAO e IZSVe), John Durant (MIT Museum of Science), Edna Einsiedel (University of Calgary), Felice Frankel (MIT), Bruce V. Lewenstein (Cornell University), Andrew Pleasant (Canyon Ranch Institute), Semir Zeki (University College London).
